Jack Hutchison made a lamp of this 1910 GE electric meter. The meter spins when the lamp is powered. This replication of an 18th century pipe box (remember those looooonnnng pipes?) is now used for fireplace matches. Greg Long of Pennsylvania talks about the history, the origin, and provides good tips of the art and craft of making Windsor chairs.

Windsor chairs are of English origin.  Legend has it that King George sought refugse from a rain storm in a farm house and sat in a stick chair that he liked. These chairs later became known as Windsor chairs because of the house of Windsor, English royalty.
